The kidney of the child is immature

Beware of dehydration

  • With a higher surface area / weight ratio as the adult, the child records proportionally larger water losses via the skin. The risk of dehydration increases, especially in case of fever or episodes of gastroenteritis. You have to be careful, especially with toddlers.

Water: good reflexes

- Make your child drink small amounts of water regularly: before school, at noon, before and after the sport, while doing his homework ...

- Offer him foods rich in water: fruits, vegetables, soups, sherbets.

- Always have a bottle of water available.
